I do not expect any more portfolios: Ramalinga Reddy

Water Resources Minister Ramalinga Reddy said on Monday that he does not expect to be given more portfolios.

Asked by reporters about speculation about him getting more portfolios, he told reporters: “I will not ask and I don’t want more portfolios. There are more and 20 more ministers are yet to be sworn in.” Asked if the high command understood his “pain”, he declined to comment.

On the issue of the Bengaluru development portfolio, which he had earlier insisted on getting and sent his resignation to Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, he said, “Even if they want to give it (now), I don’t want to. There was a problem and they asked me to take back my resignation.” Mr. Reddy also claimed that he never lobbied for either the cabinet or the portfolio. “I have no contacts in Delhi. I have gone to Delhi three times in the last three years and that too on official work.”
