The team that was not connected from the National Institute of Calicut (NITC) technology has achieved a remarkable milestone at the Supra Saeindia 2025, the leading competition of motoring at the national level organized by Automotive Engineers (UAE) India.
The team secured the first place in Kerala and the 12th position at National level and described one of the most important success on the motoring path of the Institute, said on Wednesday (August 27, 2025).
The event, which was organized on the prestigious Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, has witnessed the participation of the best engineering institutions across the country. Each competing team was entrusted with the design and production of a student formula in accordance with international standards. The evaluation was carried out across parameters such as design innovation, cost efficiency, durability, performance and racing ability.
At a proud moment for Keral, Calicut’s thread was the only institution from the state to successfully complete the endurance race, a critical component that tested the engineering reliability and efficiency of the team under real conditions.
In addition to the success of Team Ungired, it also monitors socially relevant engineering projects. Currently, the team is working on sweeping the electric road for the Calicut Campus thread, which is a project funded by Alumni Batch from 1998.
The aim of this initiative is to combine sustainability with technology to increase the cleanliness of the campus and reduce the carbon footprint of the institute, the press release said.
