YouTube is testing a new button for the Android platform in its mobile app, a report said. It is said that random videos will be played when the user does not know what to watch. This function is called Play with something Appears as a floating action button (Fab), with white text on a black background on YouTube mobile app. It is worth noting that the feature was first tested by the video streaming platform last year, but was unique to YouTube shorts at the time. But this is not the case.
Play some Fab on YouTube
9to5google found it Play with something Fab for Android app version 19.50 in YouTube. It is said to be in the beta phase, and as of now, the video streaming platform has not been officially announced.
In a report, the publication highlighted the click option to launch videos in the YouTube shorts window. Additionally, Fab can play regular YouTube videos that appear in the portrait interface, as well as options to like, dislike, comment, and share videos. After switching, the timeline scrubber is reportedly also displayed at the bottom of the screen.
However, it is said that the factory will disappear once the YouTube mini game appears.
New YouTube features
In addition to FAB, YouTube has launched several new features in recent weeks during the beta phase. This includes a new vertical scrolling gesture for its mobile app, which could change the way users browse and consume content on the platform. Refreshing any video on any video automatically sends the user to the next video instead of minimizing the default view. It is said that this is the same scrolling gesture on YouTube shorts.
The video streaming platform also extends its AI-powered automatic survey capability that automatically transcribes and converts YouTube videos from English to other dialects and vice versa to information and knowledge-centric content. It is said that it can help creators attract audiences who do not speak the same language by transcending language barriers.
