Retired Archbishop Mallavarapu Prakash passed away

Retired Archbishop Mallavarapu Prakash, 77, died after a brief illness on Sunday (June 7, 2026). He was undergoing treatment for respiratory ailments at a hospital in Visakhapatnam where he died, according to a condolence statement by Catholic Bishop of Vijayawada Telagathoti Joseph Rajarao. Mallavarapu Prakash served as the Bishop of Vijayawada from 2002 to 2012, according to Monsignor Muvvala Prasad and Vicar General M. Gabriel.
