The first level check on electronic voting machines (EVM) for local elections of local bodies 2025 was completed, the State Election Commission said on Tuesday.
The Indian company Electronics Corporation completed a check for 1,37,922 voting units and 50,693 control units owned by the Commission, said the State Election Commissioner A. Shajahan.
EVM is kept in strong rooms in districts. Approximately 1,000 officers of trained 29 engineers of the Indian company Electronics Corporation saw machines across 21 centers. Mr. Shajahan said the check lasted one month.
The Commission announced that the final list of voters for elections will be published on August 30.
