The district of Bhadradri Kothagudem, who shares the border with the Maoist focus of the Chhattisgara region of the South Bastar, has witnessed a total of 314 Maoists.
This includes the surrender of up to eight members of the forbidden CPI (Maoist) from the neighboring state in front of the police B. Rohit Raju in the Telangan’s coal town Kothagud on Tuesday, August 26).
According to the police, the Maoists, including a member of the Regional Committee, a member of the party and six members of the militia, came from the Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh.
They avoided the violent path and returned to the mainstream with the intention of leading peace life after the efforts of the district police as part of the “Operation of Cheyuth”, the police said.
The police added that each of the eight surrendered Maoist members received CZK 25,000 as an immediate assistance in cash. They will soon be provided with further financial support.
