
A 48 -year -old Panchayat was found on Tuesday in a shed near her residence in Aryanad.
The deceased, Sreeja S., a congress worker and a elected member of Kottakkakam Ward in Aryanad Grama Panchayat, was reportedly discovered unconscious and later declared dead in a nearby hospital.
According to the police, the preliminary probe suggests that it consumes the acidic substance and pave the way of suspicion of suicide.
Her family, who claimed to face financial problems, claimed that the Indian Communist Party (Marxist) (CPI (M))-a campaign aimed at Mrs. Sreeja in these matters made her an extreme step.
The protest held
Congress workers organized a protest outside the Panchayat office.
Mrs. Sreei’s husband Jayakumar accused the leadership of the CPI (m) LED Panchayat to publicly humiliate it, especially during a recent public meeting, where it was aligned against it.
The President denies a fee
However, President Panchayat Vijumohan denied any campaign against Mrs. Sreei. He claimed that some people who lent her money approached the local body, after which attempts were made to solve the problem friendly.
He added that Mrs. Sreeja assured Panchayat that she would equalize her financial obligations by July, but did not do so. Yet he admitted that there has been a protest recently, but was not aggressive or widely attended. The demand was that her political party took responsibility for its installments, said Mr. Vijumohan.

Meanwhile, the leader of the opposition VD Satheesan strongly condemned the incident. He claimed that Mrs. Sreeja was subjected to public humiliation CPI (M) leaders who criticized her over her debt. “It was a deeply desperate public shame. CPI (m) bent down to organize public meetings to humiliate those who were indebted,” he told the media persons in Kozhikode.
He claimed that the police did not request a statement from her husband and daughter Mrs. Sreei. He also demanded that the case of attachment to suicide be registered and examined public meetings in the probe.
