Minister reviews construction work in Kalvarayan Hills

Public Works and Sports Development Minister Aadhav Arjuna presided over a meeting at Kallakurichi Collectorate on Sunday to review the implementation of various schemes in Kalvarayan Hills.
Addressing the meeting, Mr. Arjuna said he directed the officials to speed up the ongoing works in the hill region and ensure that government programs reach the remote villages without delay. According to him, the government plans to strengthen sports infrastructure, including sports hostels for boys and girls.
The meeting also focused on improving school education, higher education and preventing child marriages in the area. The meeting also discussed road connectivity in the hills, availability of transport, healthcare and other basic amenities for the people living in the interior.
Earlier, the minister inspected the ongoing construction of the district sports complex at Veeracholapuram not far from here. The complex is spread over an area of 12 acres with an estimated cost of ₹15 crore.
Chief Secretary Shunchonngam Jatak Chiru, District Collector JE Padmaja and officials were present.
