Heart of Midlothian 1 – 3 Rangers: Gers Keep Pace with Leaders
The Ladbrooke Stadium in Edinburgh witnessed an intense and action-packed Scottish Premiership match as Heart of Midlothian took on Rangers on Sunday. The visitors, looking to maintain their top spot, came out on top by a narrow margin, winning 3-1 against a spirited Hearts side.
The home team started the game with a sense of urgency, looking to make the most of their chances and put pressure on the Rangers defense. However, it was the away team who opened the scoring in the 20th minute, courtesy of a well-taken strike from Alfredo Morelos. The Colombian forward expertly controlled a long ball over the top of the defense and slotted it past the Hearts goalkeeper, giving Rangers a vital lead.
Hearts tried to get back on level terms, but the Rangers defense held strong, absorbing the pressure and looking to hit the opposition on the counter. Their plan paid off in the 35th minute, when Ryan Jack doubled the visitors’ lead. A swift counter-attack saw the midfielder pick up the ball, beat a defender, and fire a low shot past the Hearts goalkeeper.
The hosts were left to try and get back into the game, but the Rangers defense remained resolute. In the 60th minute, Glen Kamara sealed the game for the away team, finishing off a well-worked move with a clinical strike.
Hearts did manage to grab a consolation goal, thanks to a 75th-minute strike from Craig Halkett, but it was too little, too late for the Edinburgh outfit.
