Although search operations find 32 missing people after heavy rain in Chishoti Village in the Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir, Minister of Defense Rajnath Singh takes place on Sunday (August 24, 2025) via Jammu.
Mr. Singh visited the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital in Jammu and met those who were injured in recent lightning floods in the village of Chishoti.

Mr. Singh, who could not travel to the affected areas due to bad weather, expressed satisfaction over the rapid response and coordinated efforts of state administration, army, national reaction for disasters (NDRF), forces of response to disasters (SDRF) and Police Jammu and Kashmir during the crisis.
“The central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leaves no stone to provide relief and rehabilitation to those who are affected by this tragic incident,” the Minister of Defense said.
During the visit to the hospital Mr. Singh communicated with the injured and prayed for their speedy recovery. He was accompanied by Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Manoj Sinha and Minister of Department of Jitendra Singh.
Previously, Mr. Sinha said that the Minister of Defense would visit the affected village if the weather was allowed.
“If the weather permits, we will visit the affected village. Otherwise (Minister of Defense) will meet with GMC injuries and return to Delhi,” said Governor Lieutenant.
Heavy rains were on August 14th, the village of Chishoti, killed 65 people, and injured more than 100 others, while searching for 32 missing persons continues.
“Sixteen people are treated in GMC and their condition is stable. I hope everyone will recover soon and get home soon,” LG said.
He said that the 4,13 GBP Crore was spent on relief and rehabilitation of the victims and both Jammu and Kashmir and the Center, will ensure their proper rehabilitation.
