
On Monday, the Pathankot District Administration announced a holiday in all educational institutions as a result of continuous rain, the officials said.
Several villages near the Indian-Pakistani border in the Pathankot district in Punjab were affected on the water surface in UJH, Ravi Rivers and Rivules rose up after heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir and Himacal Pradesh.
“With regard to continuous rains in the Pathankot district, permissible in all government/non -governmental schools, universities and other educational districts of Pathankot 25th August,” the order issued by the representative of Pathankot Aditya Uppal read.
The Minister of Cabinet Pandjab Lal Chand Kataruchak visited the affected areas on Sunday to evaluate the situation and assure the people that the state government would be compensated for any loss.
Due to the strong flow of water in the rivers UJH, Ravi and seasonal controls, the situation in the villages along the Indo-Pak boundary was grim.
