
The meeting of the District Development Committee (DDC) ordered officials to take steps to immediately complete the remaining work of the housing complex in Mannumpuram near Purakkad. The facility is built as part of the PunargeGam State Government project, which aims to rehabilitate Fisher’s families living up to 50 meters from the coast.
The meeting chaired by the District Collector Alex Varghese on Saturday (August 23, 2025) proposed to identify families in the district, which belongs to the category of extreme poverty, and also transmits flats. The matter was raised at the meeting by H. Salam, Mla.
PP Chitharanjan, MLA, caused the problem of delay in providing compensation for damages caused by natural calamities. The officials reported that the Crore 2 crore sanctioned as compensation in 2024 was paid Crore 1.4 GBP and the remaining amount will soon be published.
