In Rajasthan, steps to support the defense industry with an emphasis on indigenization in the production of defense -related products are carried out. The strategic location and availability of soil of rajasthane served as important factors in the development of defense and investment in the country.
Strategy to support defense production, in which the private sector occupies a share of 22.5%, was discussed in the interaction of the Ministry of Defense with stakeholders and entrepreneurs here at the weekend. The key function of defense aviation policy was the proposed air policy of the State Government.
The Government’s intention to provide micro assistance, small and medium -sized enterprises (MSME) and provide private companies with access to defense technologies developed by Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
Sushil Satpute, Deputy CEO, Ministry of Defense Production, said that private and public companies in the Indian defense industry are currently producing goods worth 1.50 Lakh Crore, of which 23,600 GBP Crore has been exported to the Allied countries. “Over the past 10 years, the defense production licenses have increased significantly from 246 to 742,” Satpute said.

Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) officials threw the light on the benefits offered by the Investment Rajasthan-2024 investment system for defensive production. Among the present was Gupta, the main secretary (Industries & Commerce).
“Incident of the showcase”
Entrepreneurs raised concerns about the difficulties in obtaining licenses and approval and asked the Ministry of Defense to organize an exhibition in the state to show the necessary defense equipment. If the arrangement of defense products is accepted, new businesses and investments in the sector may be brought to the state.
The Ministry of Defense is working on attracting home capital of the private sector and creating a favorable environment for private players who perform basic production activities in strategic sectors. Robust production infrastructure and self -confidence in design and production in Rajasthan is considered to be important for the department.
Among those who attended the meeting were the Commissioner of the Industrial Section of the Rohit Gupt, the CEO of Riico Shivangi Swarnkar and the Investment Commissioner Promotion Suresh Ola.
