A recent survey of concert and platform workers revealed that despite some progress, low basic tariffs and relatively lower incentives, there remained key concerns that workers faced.
The impact report 2024 report published by Telangana GIG and the Workers Union (TGPWU) platform included data on survey collected from workers across driving, delivery and service platforms.
The survey found that 84.38% of respondents identified low tariffs as the highest concerns. Even as an account of workers at a concert is in shocks, the problem is a stretched problem. The concert workers are of the opinion that the platforms did not consult them.
The way in which incentives change was quoted by 34% of the respondents who stated that earlier performance -based bonuses were either drastically reduced or completely ended. According to the Union, this trend seriously influenced monthly income and disrupted confidence in platform reward mechanisms.
More than 26% of workers said they were unfavorably influenced by ID companies. It claimed that it sometimes happened without offering previous warnings or looking for an explanation. This drastically affects the security of their income.
Although companies classify concerts and staff of the platform as independent suppliers, up to 12.5% of workers, on the other hand, they claim that social security was a problem. Workers demanded more security and warranty security, such as access to programs, including state insurance (ESI), Provident Fund (PF) and coverage of accidents.
Meanwhile, concerns about dignity at work have expressed 5.73 % of workers, especially those who have many years of experience on digital platforms.
Long working hours – up to 12 hours – were reported by 3.65 % of workers. Lack of sufficient orders and reservations was marked 4.69% of respondents.
“This report reflects both our progress and our ongoing struggle. Group and staff on the platform require recognition, protection and dignity. Our work is far from over, but we are building a stronger movement together,” said Shaik Salauddin, founder of TGPw.
