The case came to light on 18th August when the victim’s mother filed a complaint against the Kukatpally police and said her daughter was found murdered at home.
During the probe, the police found that the accused of the same locality invented the plan to steal a cricket bat belonging to the younger brother of the victim. On the day of the incident he entered the house through the terrace and tried to take a bat. When the girl noticed him and lifted the alarm, he panicked and stabbed her with a knife several times and killed her on the spot.
Police Commissioner Cyberabad Avinash Mohanta said that the accused then washed the knife and his hands, changed his clothes and tried to behave normally to avoid suspicion. Initially, the boy tried to mistakenly by investigators by claiming that he had only heard the sounds that someone was entering the house, but the forensic traces, indirect evidence and permanent interviews showed his involvement in the crime.
The stolen cricket bats and clothing wearing the accused at the time of the offense were also confiscated and the accused was made before the court for juveniles.
