
“Two people were killed and the same number injured in two separate incidents related to rain in Reasi and Kathhua districts, in Jammu and Kashmir soon on Saturday (August 23, 2025),” the officials said.
“Shahbaz Ahmad, a resident of the village of Jamlan, lost his life, and the other two were injured when their truck got under the landslide of the launched rain near Malai Mahore in the reasi district,” the officials said.
They said the incident occurred around 2.30 pm and injured, Javed Ahmad and Abdul Gani, rescuers were evacuated to the hospital. “One person, identified as Ravi, lost his life when his car was caught in lightning floods, while crossing the overflowing stream near Dreamland Park in the district of Kathhua,” the officials said.
They said the body of the deceased was obtained by the joint rescue team of the state forces for reaction to disasters (SDRF) and the police. Meanwhile, at least 20 passengers, including some students, were injured when a private bus rolled over the bridge in the Arnia Pura area on the edge of Jammu.
“The bus was on its way to Jammu when his driver lost control, as a result of the vehicle slipped off the road and turned the turtle in the open field,” the officials said, adding that the injured were moved to the hospital and the four of them were declared “serious”.
