‘License aane do’: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s hilarious reaction to driving his IPL premium car

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (Image: AP) Vaibhav Sooryavanshi may have taken the IPL 2026 season by storm, but the teenage sensation will have to wait a little longer to enjoy one of the biggest rewards of his record-breaking campaign.The 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals star was gifted a brand new Tata Sierra SUV after winning several individual awards at the IPL 2026 award ceremony. Sooryavanshi finished the tournament as the Orange Cap winner with 776 runs and also bagged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Rookie of the Season awards.While the luxury SUV became one of the highlights of the awards night, the funny reality quickly caught the attention of fans, Sooryavanshi is still too young to legally drive one. As per Indian law, the minimum age required to obtain a driving license for a private vehicle is 18 years. As a result, the teenage batting prodigy will have to wait another three years to get behind the wheel of his prize.

“License required”

In a video shared by Rajasthan Royals on social media, Sooryavanshi was asked to take charge of the car after previously only driving remote control toy vehicles. Speaking to RR team manager Romi Bhinder, the youngster gave a candid and light-hearted reply.“I will keep it after 3 years. When I get my license, I will start after that,” said Vaibhav Sooryanashi.(“I’ll keep it for three years. Get me a driver’s license first, then I’ll drive it.”)“Papa ko bolunga chalane, bagal mein baithunga,” he added.(“I’ll ask my father to drive it and I’ll sit next to him.”)

Season for the history books

Sooryavanshi’s remarkable IPL 2026 campaign made him one of the biggest stories of the season. Opening the batting for Rajasthan Royals, the teenager amassed a tournament-high 776 runs while playing a fearless brand of cricket against some of the world’s best bowlers. His performances earned him the Orange Cap, the MVP award and the Emerging Player of the Season award, making him the standout individual player of the tournament.
