The crime branch of Guwahati on Thursday (August 21, 2025) registered the first information report (companies) against journalists and YouTuber Abhisar Sharm on the basis of a complaint filed by the local resident, who claimed he recorded a video that mocks both Assam and the Union government.

He argued that such comments were able to ignite passions and create distrust against legal authorities and promote hostility among religious groups.
