
Director of the Study S. Iyer Department hand over the first delegate set of the 17th international documentary and a short -term KERAL festival to actor Mathew Thomas.
Curtain will go up to the 17th edition of the International Documentary and Short Film Festival Keral (IDSFFK), organized by the Keral State Chalachitra Academy on Friday at the Kairali Theater Complex in the capital.
During the six -day festival, 331 films from 52 countries will be mixed in 29 categories.
The screening will start on Friday at 9:15.
The Minister of Cultural Affairs Saji Cherian will formally start a festival in office that will be held at the Kairali Theater at 6 pm, and General Minister of Education V. Sivanka will chair office. After the ceremony, the introductory film by Ground Zero, a collective work of 22 Palestinian filmmakers, will be screened, capturing unspeakable stories of the ongoing genocides in Gaza.
The distribution of delegates passes began on Thursday by the director of the Department of Culture Divya S. Iyer, who handed over the first set of delegates to actors Mathew Thomas.
The screening will take place in sections such as categories of competitions for long and short documentaries, short films, animations, music videos and campus movies. In addition, it will focus on categories for short documentary, long documentary, short fiction, international films, festival winners and jury films. Along with the screening, the festival will also host meetings with meetings and personal sessions, championship classes and panel discussions, which will give delegates opportunities to involve with filmmakers.
Price
The Prize of Lifelong Success for an excellent contribution to the documentary film will be awarded RAKESH SHARMA, which recognized documents, including the final solution, to Gujarat Pogrom from 2002. The price carries a cash price of 2,000,000 GBP, quote and statuette. Four of Sharm’s films will also be screened at the festival.
The section for honor will pay tribute to the recently filled film Moviers Shyam Benegal, Shaji N. Karun, Souleyme Cissé, Tapan Kumar Bose, Tarun Bharatiya and Rescue and RS RS P. Jayacandran.
Ceremony
The ceremony will take place on 27 August at 6 pm at the Kairali Theater, where the prizes for the competition section will be announced. The best long document will receive 2 lakh 2 while the best short document will be granted 1 lakh. In the short film category, the best short film will be awarded 2 lakh 2 and the second best short film will receive 1 lakh 1. The best Campus movie made in Kerala will be honored with a price of 50,000 GBP.
The delegate fees are set at 590 GBP for the general category and 354 GBP for students. Registration can be made online at registration.iff.in or directly in the delegates cell operating in the Kairali Theater complex.
