Russia supports the goals of “make in india” in the new Dilli, including joint production and transmission of technology, the Minister of external Affairs with Jaishankar said on Thursday.
At a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov Jaishankar welcomed the relationship in India-Russia.
Jaishankar’s visit to Moscow comes against the background of tribes in Indian ties with the US following President Donald Trump to double tariffs to Indian goods at 50 %, which included another 25 % punishment for the purchase of Russian oil.
“India and Russia were the most demanding of the world’s main relationships after World War II,” he said.
“Our defense and military technical cooperation also remains robust. Russia supports Indian goals” make in india “, including joint production and transmission of technologies,” he added.
EAM said it is also important to maintain energy cooperation between India and Russia through trade and investment.
The Jaishankar, who addressed the media, said both foreign ministers reaffirmed their shared goals to expand their bilateral trade during the meeting to discuss bilateral relationships and prepare for the annual summit at the end of the year.
“We have again confirmed our shared ambitions to expand the bilateral trade in a balanced and sustainable way, including increasing India exports to Russia,” Jaishankar said.

The Minister also shared ways that India and Russia can expand bilateral trade at a time when the US deposited 50% of the Indian export tariffs as a “sanction” for the purchase of Russian oil.
“This requires that non -tariff barriers and regulatory obstacles that have strengthened Indian exports to Russia in sectors such as agriculture, pharmaceutical and textiles will certainly help to remedy the imbalance,” Jaishankar said.
India is not the largest buyer of Russian oil, that is China: Jaishankar
Jaishankar, who refuted the accusation of Trump Administration that India is the largest buyer of Russian oil, said China is buying the largest amount of Russian oil, while the EU leads LNG.
“We are not the largest buyer of Russian oil, that is China. We are not the largest buyer of LNG, that is the European Union. We are not a country that has the largest trade in Russia after 2022,” he said.
Indian oil purchases from the US also increased, Jaishankar noted.
“By the way, we are also buying oil from the US and this amount has increased. So frankly, we are very confused by the logic of the argument you (media) mentioned,” he said.

The problem of Indian soldiers in the Russian army discussed
Jaishankar said he also raised the matter of Indian soldiers serving in the Russian army at a time when the war of Ukraine causes death in the queue.
“I took the question of the Indians serving in the Russian army. While many of them have been released, there are still waiting cases, with some missing people.
