
Governor of the Federal Reserve Lisa Cook has indicated her intention to stay in the central bank, despite the challenges to resign US President Donald Trump over the accusations of mortgage fraud.
“I do not intend to be bullied to withdraw from my position because of a few questions raised in the tweet,” quoted Bloomberg News Cook, the first black woman sitting on the Fed album, in -mail statement.
“I intend to take any questions about my financial history as a member of the federal reserve system, so I collect accurate information to answer any legitimate questions and provide facts,” she added.

Bill Pulte’s Federal Director of Housing Agency recently asked the General Prosecutor Pam Bondi to probate Cook over two mortgages. After Bloomberg News report on Tuesday evening Trump tweet on Wednesday morning and urged Cook to resign.
On August 15, Pulte sent a letter to Bondi and Ed Martin, an official of the Ministry of Justice, suggesting that Cook could commit a crime. The letter claimed that Cook “Falsified Bank Documents and Records of Assets to obtain better conditions of loan that could represent mortgage fraud under criminal law”.
No fees were filed and it remains unclear whether Bondi will start an investigation. The Ministry of Justice had previously decided to comment on Pulte’s letter.

After the Cook Pulte’s statement, she posted on the social media: “Write anything you or your lawyers want Miss Cook, you have been caught on the basis of mortgage documents, not on tweet.”
In addition to Cook, the Trump administration also focused on high -ranking democrats with accusations of mortgage fraud, including California Senator Adam Schiff and General Prosecutor New York Letitia James, both of whom have long -term political rivalry with Trump.
In an interview with CNBC on Wednesday, he described mortgage fraud as a “existential threat” for federal banks of housing loans under the supervision of his agency.

“We’ll be prosecuted,” he said.
“In my experience, it is unusual to see how intensive document reviews perform at the level of loans,” said Ben Clubs, a former main representative of the General Advisor HUD and the reigning General Council, according to Biden Administration.
“If it is really a routine random review, it is unusual that the result is three democratic public officials and that these recommendations are published in detail,” he added.
Meanwhile, Senator Elizabeth Warren, a leading Democrat in the Senate Committee supervising Pulte, said that Trump’s administration “should not occupy the federal government to illegally burn independent members of the Board of Directors”.
“For a long time, I have been an advocate that the Fed officials were responsible,” Warren’s report quoted a statement. “But anyone can see that President Trump has been trying to intimidate the pretext or fire chairs Powell and members of the Federal Reserve and blame anyone except for his failed economic policy,” she added.
