The day after the State Cabinet decided on the categories to provide an internal booking between the planned castes, it expressed part of the community of suffering in a category scrapping, which instead provided 1% of the quota for 59 microscopic communities and group them with the “touch” communities Korama, Korama, Lambani and Bh.
In his statement, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah defended this decision and stated that this happened because of technical problems. Sources also stated that fastening the roasting points would be difficult for 1%.
Their numbers
59 Cast, of which 49 were identified as nomadic and semi -modern, together are about 5.22 lakh or 4.97% of the total population. They were grouped with “touch” castes, whose population is about 28.34 lamps or 26.97% of the total population of SC. Microscopic communities were given a category and with 1% reservation because they were classified as the most popular based on socio -economic and educational backwardness.
According to the results of the survey, communities in education are extremely retrospectively, with low literacy, live in poor conditions, and very few of them are technical and university education. Together, all communities have only 0.86% of government employment and 0.09% in political representation, with 31.83% of their own land. Very few of these 59 communities have gained government benefits. For this particular reason, he was in category A to gain priority.
How do Dalitian and left groups see it
The Federation for Social Justice for the planned caste thanked the main Minister Siddaraiaiah for the “historical decision” thanked the government’s decision for the purpose of the “historical decision”. “The internal reservation has been announced with a commitment to social justice. We also welcome the decision to withdraw against activists fighting for this matter,” said the Basaraj Kowthal Federation coordinator. However, he called on the government to consider reservations for microscopic communities.
The Dalits Law (Holyas), who were in their arms against recommendations, described the decision as “satisfactory” since their action was considered, but “not completely happy”. “The government should separate the right communities that are grouped with left communities, and vice versa, when they announce the decision. There are still many confusion about the lists,” said Karnataka Rajya Chalavadi Mahasabha D. Chandrashkaraiah. He also said that the government should review the category and reservation matrix once the center has published data on the castles that will be collected as part of the next general census.
“Why did the Commission’s recommendations overlook to suit political interests?” He asked K. Loket Chavadi of Gorangi community with a population of 2,467.
“When the numerically larger Madiga community (Dalit left) had to fight for 35 years, imagine how much time we will have to fight for justice,” he added. He explained that they would have to compete with the “touch” communities that are numerically larger and better socio-economically and educational.
Up to 50 communities in this group 59 have a population of less than 10,000, with six communities having a population of less than 100. The population of 17 communities is less than 1,000. Masthi, with 33 members, was identified as the smallest community.
