The National Conference with a Panel Discussion and Film Festival will make this edition of the Transgender Festival “Varnapakitt” different from previous editions, said Social Justice Minister R. Binda.
The minister, who addressed the media here on Tuesday, said Kozhikode will host a three -day festival from Thursday.
On Thursday, the National Conference in the Jubilee Hall, Kozhikode will be held, from 10:00 the conference will be held a prefabricated discussion on transgender health, social care, education, skills development, human rights and social justice. The conference will be attended by a number of delegates, including healthcare professionals, academics, writers and activists from and outside the state.

This year, the VarnaPakitt art festival returns to a competitive format. Contestants will have stamps based on brands secured. The festival handbook was revised to make it easier. “Kalarathnam” will be announced for the contestant providing maximum points on stage events and “sargapratibha” for unstable events. A team/individual providing class in group/solo events will be awarded a cash price of 7,500 GBP and 3,000 GBP.
The festival will end on Saturday at 6 pm. Dr. Binda will start valedictors. Chaired by the Minister for Forest Ak Sasendran.
Dr. Bindu announced the winner of a short film competition that took place in connection with Varnapakitt. “Bathakka Hridayam Thunnan ponu” Harsh won the first “Bhavayami” prize by Akhil Shivapal the second prize and “Marujanmam” by Rosna Josha Josha’s third prize. They will receive a cash price of 20,000, 15,000 and 10,000 GBP, Trophy and certificate.
