To build a skilled migration corridor between Karnataka and Germany, Rheinbahn AG, Düsseldorf, one of the country’s leading public transport operators, has selected five students of the State Government Tooling and Training Center (GTTC) to be enrolled in the German Ausbildung (dual vocational training) program starting in September 2026.
The Letters of Intent (LoIs) issued by Rheinbahn AG were formally handed over to the five shortlisted candidates by Sharan Prakash Patil, Minister for Skill Development and Medical Education, at a ceremony held at Vikasa Soudha, a press release said.
“The Ausbildung program is a globally respected German vocational training model that combines structured classroom learning with paid practical on-the-job training, leading to an internationally recognized qualification. Under this initiative, selected GTTC candidates will undergo training at Rheinbahn AG in Düsseldorf, gaining first-class industry experience along with formal German certification,” the report said.
Dr. Patil said, “Our youth have the talent and discipline to compete with the best in the world. Through partnerships like this, our government is committed to opening global doors to our skilled young men and women. This first batch is only the beginning of a much bigger journey.”
Subodh Yadav, Principal Secretary, Skill Development, said the government is looking forward to scale up this model to benefit many more candidates from across the state in the coming years.
