Musfira Shaikh believes her writing skill is her “superpower”. This seven -year -old man, the third standard student Markaz Public School in Kaithappyil, is a published author. Her book Stories Before Sleep, 7 Stories with Focus on Paws, is now available on most online reading platforms.
Musfira is a child with difficulty talking and I hesitate to speak in my school. Writing was her way to express her feelings from a very young age, and that largely helped her overcome her challenges.
“Initially, she demanded dairy products and we didn’t know why. Later we found out that she had picked her thoughts in her harsh book. We realized she had a written talent, decided to raise him,” said Mubashira Khot, her mother, publicist in Urda daily.
Musfir’s family comes from Pune, Maharashtra and lives in Kaithappyil for about five years. Her father, Dr. Mohammed Ishaque Shaikh, is a doctor who has published two books in the field.
“He writes in his blood and we could raise it through structured management through an online educational platform. Her instructor Harshana PM focused on improving her communication skills along with writing skills and Musfira by telling,” said Mrs. Khot.
“7 Stories for promoting the paw”, as the name suggests, is at the end of the set of seven stories before bed with morality. “My mother told me stories during sleep. But I wanted my own book Stories before bed,” Musfira said. She took examples of her life to come up with stories in which the characters are different animals. “Three little kittens are my favorite story because it’s about me and my siblings,” she said shyly.
Her first story was published in a children’s publication, Kid’s Age, in 2024, which encouraged her to write more.
