On Tuesday, the Legislative Assembly approved a bill on the Karnataka Act (amendment), 2025, which allowed the municipal commissioners to regulate the unlawful buildings by selecting the punishment.
Violation
The Minister of City Development BS Suresh (Byrathi) said that the extent of violation of the construction plan, which is eligible for regularization, increases from 5% to 15%. The bill would make it possible to regulate buildings in small places. The size would be given in the rules, but it would not exceed 20×30 ft and 30×40 ft.
The bill also assumes the exemption of small properties from requiring the initiation certificate (CC) and occupancy certificates (OC), which are expected to benefit from bad income categories and family of middle class.
Mr. Suresh explained the objectives of the bill and stated that the changes would only apply to unlawful buildings that can be regularized in accordance with the provisions of the building statutory statutory or any valid act. This does not apply to buildings that have been ordered to demolish.
According to the bill, municipal commissioners can issue OCS citizens by choosing them if they have not obtained CCS at the time of construction. Similarly, the fine may be selected “to the extent or deviation of construction with regard to the sanctioned plan or the limit of the zonal zone regulation regulation, as can be stated in the statutes”.
The process of certification
Empanel corporations also enabled experts such as architects, engineers, structural consultants and environmental consultants who are emphasized by the local authority as justified persons to view the construction sites before, during and after construction to confirm and sanction plans. The Minister said that Empanelech engineers will be able to approve building plans of up to 4,000 square feet.
BJP members, including CN Ashwath Narayan, have caused the bill to limit the violation to 15% and stated that it should be focused on the collection of sanctions. Demanded that the provisions of the bill should be extended to all buildings.
Here it can be recalled that the Supreme Court remained in the Akrama-Sakrama of the scheme, which aimed at regulating unauthorized urban buildings by imposing a sentence.
