Strong rainfall, which on Tuesday (August 19, 2025) disrupted the Yadgir district, disrupted normal life. With regard to the safety of children, the district administration announced a two -day holiday 19 and 20. August for government and private schools, universities and centers of Anganwadi, according to the request submitted by the Ministry of Education.

Streams of the Krishna and Bhima rivers, which flowed with a high quantum of water, influenced the connectivity of roads in many parts of the district. Bridges built near the villages of Pogalapur, Chamanal and Kotagera were flooded after water overflowed.
Sanna Kere’s water plunged into a part of Lumbini’s park, the only public garden from using in Yadgir, turned it into a pond.

Rainwater enters the field
According to official information, up to 21 houses were damaged due to abundant precipitation. Of these, 12 V Yadgir Taluk, two in Hunsagi Taluk and seven in Gurmmmal Taluk.
Hundreds of acres of agricultural fields were flooded with rainwater, which represents a serious threat to damage to cotton and green gram crops. The exact area flooded with rainwater or jet water will be found after the assessment, the sources said.

Tank levels
Meanwhile, Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigama Limited released a large amount of water from the Basavasagar reservoir in the village of Nayanapur in Hunsagi Taluk district.
According to the information provided by them, the tank was at 11:30 am 19 August 1,80 Lakh Cusecs, which caused them to release 1,80,500 Cusecs water into the river Krishna by opening 30 ridges to maintain safety.
The current water level in the tank was 491.53 meters opposite the full level of the tank (FRL) 492.25 meters.

KBJNL authorities have also launched an action to release water from the Bridge-Cum-Barrage (BCB), located in the village of Sannati in the Kalaburagi district in Chittapur Taluk.
According to official sources, approximately 60,000 CUSECS with water were released, while the same amount of water flowed into the BCB. The current BCB water level was 351.0 m against FRL 359.0 m.

Official data shows that the district received a large downpour in the 24 -hour period ending in August 19 at 8:30.

On August 18, the highest precipitation of 53.8 mm ended at 8.30 pm on Gurmitkal, followed by 38.6 mm in Yadgir, 21.02 mm in Wadagera and the lowest 10.7 mm was recorded in Hunsagi.
The authorities concerned were asked by KBJNL officials to issue notifications of exaggeration to people downstream from the Krishna River to drain the water into the river.
