YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) state coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy called on party leaders and the minority wing to lead a democratic struggle against what he called the coalition government’s anti-people policies, saying minorities have been deprived of welfare, political representation and even basic protections.

Addressing a meeting of the minority wing at the YSRCP headquarters on Saturday, Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy said that party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy did politics with public welfare as his sole objective and brought transformational reforms in education, health, agriculture and social welfare during the party’s tenure.

“However, the coalition government has failed to deliver on its Super Six promises while weakening existing welfare systems,” he said.

He further claimed that the government’s borrowing in just two years was about the same as that obtained by the YSRCP government in five years.

Reacting to the recent political developments, Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy criticized the government for “indulging in political theatre” instead of addressing public issues and the alleged irregularities in the DSC-2025 recruitment, saying that even genuine grievances raised by the unemployed youth were being ignored.

He claimed that the YSRCP filled thousands of jobs transparently during its tenure and reiterated that the party would continue to stand firmly behind the minorities.

Leaders of the minority wing of the YSRCP have accused the coalition government of betraying the Muslim community by failing to fulfill election promises and neglecting the welfare of minorities after assuming office.

They pointed out that over ₹23,000 crore was spent on welfare of minorities through DBT and non-DBT schemes during the YSRCP government and alleged that the current administration has failed to fulfill its Haj relief commitments, weakened the Minority Finance Corporation and threatened Waqf assets while treating minorities only as a vote bank.

The meeting also focused on the ongoing Special Intensive Review (SIR) of electoral rolls, with leaders urging minorities and party cadres to remain vigilant against any attempt to remove genuine voters from electoral rolls.

YSRCP General Secretary Lella Appi Reddy, MLC MD Ruhulla and Isaac Basha, Minority Wing President Khader Basha, Working President Hafeez Khan and other leaders spoke.
