The West Bengal Unit on the side of Bharatiya Janata (BJP) on Sunday (August 17, 2025) stated that people of the state want a special intensive revision (Sir) of electoral roles on the lines of exercises performed in the neighboring Bihar.
The Note of the BJP leadership came after the main election commissioner Gynaesh Kumar said on Sunday (August 17, 2025) that three election commissioners would decide when Sir’s exercise would be carried out in West Bengal and other countries.
“People from West Bengal want Lord. If someone is afraid, then it is their problem. People from West Bengal do not want Western Bangladesh and another 16th August (Direct Action Day),” said Samik Bhattacharya on Sunday (August 17, 2025).
The leadership of the BJP of the West Bengal, including the leader of the opposition of Suvend Adhikari, has demanded in the state in the last few months. Mr. Adhikari claimed that four categories of voters would be removed from the voters’ list, including dead voters and voters who are Bangladesh inhabitants.
The Congress of the Trinamool said it would be against any Sir tooth and nail. Congress Secretary of Congress Tinamool Abhishek Banerjee spoke a few days ago against a selective Sir in some states such as West Bengal, and called on Lok Sabha.
