Amoebic encephalitis, a rare brain infection, was found to be the cause of the death of a nine -year -old girl two days ago in this district of Northern Kerala, and confirmed health officials on Saturday.
The head of the health clerk said that the girl was admitted to the hospital due to a fever 13th August, but as her condition worse, she was moved on August 14th to Kozhikode Medical College, where she died the same day.
The search is turned on to identify a water body such as a pond or lake, from where a child, a Thamarasere resident, closed the pathogen.
The official said it was probably the fourth case of a rare brain infection that was reported from the district this year.

What is amoebic encephalitis aka amoeba consuming the brain?
N Fowleri amoeba is a microscopic organism found around the world. If someone is infected with n fowleri, what is called the primary amoebic meningoencephalitis, a serious brain infection.

Symptoms include sore throat, headache, hallucination, confusion, vomiting, fever, throat stiffness, taste changes and aroma and seizures.
Incubation period of primary amoebic meningoencephalitis – the time between infection and the appearance of symptoms – usually ranges from three to seven days.
Tragically, this disease is almost always fatal, although someone quickly receives medical care. Death usually occurs about five days after the start of symptoms.
