The Collector has ordered an inquiry into 44 child deaths in Kakinada district
Kakinada District Collector MN Harendhira Prasad on Saturday ordered an inquiry into 44 infant deaths reported in the district from January to March.
At a review meeting on infant and maternal mortality held here, officials reviewed the causes of infant deaths reported during the period.
According to an official statement, Mr. Harendhira Prasad directed District Medical Officer and Health Officer J. Narasimha Naik and other officials concerned to conduct a detailed inquiry into the 44 cases. Officials informed the meeting that no maternal mortality was reported in the district during this period.
