The traffic mirror in Hyderabad’s IT Corridor deteriorates in the middle of the week, because they prefer to leave Mondays and Fridays from home, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. While employees say that the arrangement is equalizing personal and professional life, the traffic police claim that the rush will suffocate key roads in the middle of the week, leading to introduction.
According to higher Cyberabad traffic police officials, the IT corridor section with the main residential nodes witnesses at least 25% of traffic increase in the middle of the week.
“Of the three days, Tuesday and Wednesday are the worst, usually 20-25% higher than the usual Monday and Friday.
During the top hours between 8:00 and 12:00, up to 89,000 to 1 vehicles on these routes are associated with commuting only. DCP Manohar said, “Out of 33,000 cars in all directions is about 10% (3,300) involved IT employees. Of the 1.2 lacquer bikes, at least 50% (60,000), more than 80% (2,667) of 3.347 buses (23,250).
On average, more than 10 lakh vehicles pass through the key that directs daily. The busiest sections include the city of Hitec to Jnt, leading to hafezpet and KPHB, Lingamplyly Road, Gachibowli, Shaikpet Flover, which connects Tolichowki with Raidurg and Gachibowli – Road, leading to Botanical Garden and Kothagud.
The police claim that the rush stems from employees who prefer club work from home on weekends, and leave in the middle of the week for the presence of the office.
The choice is intentional for employees. Steve Abraham, 30 years old, who is working at night for the company in Hitec City, said:
Further developers of the Products with the front MNC added that team training has shifted. “Previously, Monday was the starting set for personal meetings. They will now become Wednesday, with Monday reserved for virtual catching up,” the employee said.
Others see the benefits of lifestyle. Karthik (name changed), a technical employee with a financial service company in Gachibowli admitted that on Monday and Friday he would jump off the office after the weekend of the air space. “Previously, Sunday nights were a fight … I reduced a short meeting, skipped late trips because Monday meant waking up three hours earlier to beat traffic.
Meanwhile, some learned hard. Alok (name changed), another IT employee working in Madhapur, said he passed his office days to Monday and Thursday to avoid the worst rush. “I used to be in the same gang, but I soon realized that Tuesday and Wednesday were chaos. Now I’m traveling when there are fewer people on the road,” he laughed.
Also, industry observers believe that the formula fails. Nased Khan, CEO of Cyberabad (SCSC), said the hybrid work should reduce overload, but in fact has deteriorated. “By concentrating office days in the middle of the week, three consecutive days of top overload created. If companies unfolded office plans, the traffic could be better distributed.” The traffic police reflected this proposal and urged IT companies to distribute the schedule.
