
Moin Uddin, the father of two, went to offer Friday’s prayers when the roof of Dargah near Humayun’s tomb collapsed in the capital of the National City on Friday and killed 32 -year -olds and five others. Uddin, a Bihar migrant, worked in a clothing store and was the only breadwinner for his family, including his five -year -old son, a three -year -old daughter, parents and a younger brother.
“He went to offer Friday,” said Moin’s landlord, remembered the tragedy when the structure near Humayun’s tomb collapsed.
What happened?
Around 15:30 on Friday, the Dargah Sharif Patte Shah roof, where about 15 people got married because of the collapse of heavy rain. The premises are in the mosque, Dargah and at least two rooms.
Dargah shares its border with the garden tomb of the 16th century, which in 1558 was commissioned by the first wife of Mughal Humayun Bega Begum.
A total of six people died in the incident, including a 79 -year -old man and three women, while a four -year -old boy was among the five injured, the police said.
Eyewitnesses remember the horror
Five fire offers were in a hurry and saved 10-12 people trapped under the debris. The rescue operations were attended by the Police Delhi, Fire Services, the national strength of the reaction to disasters (NDRF) and the archaeological survey of India (about). Police confiscated DVR recordings of the mosque and questioned their caregivers.
Vishal Kumar, eyewitness, said PTI, “I work in Humayun’s tomb. When we heard noise, my supervisor ran. At least 10 to 12 people were trapped under the debris. Imam is also among the injured.”
Another eyewitness described how close she got to burial under the debris.
“I was just two steps from the entrance to the room,” she said.
“It started raining and everyone went inside to hide. Suddenly the wall collapsed. I was still screaming for help, but no one nearby. Then some people ran and we started pulling people out,” she added.
Delhi Police registers a business
Police Delhi registered a case of negligence against unknown persons. Police filed a case under various parts of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhit (BNS), including 290 sections, which relate to negligence with regard to the download, repair or building of buildings, etc. Section 125 concerning negotiations that endanger the lives of others and 106 caused by negligence.
