CJP LIVE protest: A large number of school students, college students, competitive exam aspirants and parents gathered at Jantar Mantar on Saturday to participate in a protest organized by supporters of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in examinations and recruitment tests.
Many participants said they joined the demonstration out of concern about the current state of the education system.
Attendance grew steadily as people arrived throughout the day, with the congregation expanding significantly from the morning.
The participants said repeated controversies surrounding the examination, delays and uncertainty in results and what they termed inadequate accountability by the authorities had undermined their confidence in the education system, according to PTI.
Several protesters also expressed frustration with both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and opposition parties, arguing that the issues facing students and young people have not been addressed with the seriousness they deserve.
