Washington, August 14 (Reuters) – The United States ordered the deployment of US air and naval forces on the Southern Caribbean Sea to deal with the threats of Latin American drug cartels, two sources reported on the decision to Reuters on Thursday.
Sources had few details about surgery, but President Donald Trump wanted to use the army to go after the Latin American drug gangch, which were referred to as global terrorist organizations. The Pentagon was ordered to prepare the possibilities.
Trump made an intervention on drug cartels by the central goal of its administration, part of a wider effort to reduce migration and ensure the southern border of the US.
Trump’s administration has already deployed at least two warships in recent months to help with the security efforts of borders and drug trafficking.
The sources that speak on the condition of anonymity said the Ministry of Defense began to order the deployment of US air and naval forces to the Southern Caribbean Sea.
“This deployment focuses on solving the threats of US national security from specially designated Narco-Terrorist organizations in the region,” one of the sources said.
The Trump administration was determined by the Mexican Sinaloa Cartel and other drug gangs and the Venezuelan criminal group Tren de Aragua as a global terrorist organization in February when Trump increased the promotion of immigration against alleged gang members.
The US Army is already increasing its air supervision of Mexican drug cartels to collect intelligence to determine how best to face their activities. Trump has already offered to send us troops to Mexico to help fight drug trafficking, Mexico’s offer says it refused. (Steve Holland’s Report and Idrees Ali; Editing Michael Perry)
