Cloudburst was reported on Thursday in Kashhtwar on Jammu and Kashmir in Kishtwar. The extent of damage and any possible victims are still evaluated.
After the urgent message of the opposition leader in Jammu and Kashmir and the local MLA Sunil Kumar Sharma, a conversation with the deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma was held to evaluate the situation.

Governor Lieutenant Jammu & Kashmir Manoj Sinha expressed his condolences to families affected by Cloudburst and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. “Cloudburst in Chesiti Kishtwar. Condolence to surviving families and prayers for rapid recovery of the injured. He ordered civil, police, army, NDF and SDF officials to strengthen rescue and assistance and ensure that all possible help is affected,” he wrote on X.
IMD today predicts strong precipitation
The meteorological center in Srinagar issued a warning against a slight to severe collision over the next 4 to 6 hours across several parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
The authorities warned the potential for cloudbursts, lightning floods, landslides, mud and shooting stones, especially in hilly and vulnerable areas.

Regions that are likely to be influenced include Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Srinagar, Ganderball and the Budgam, along with Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, Udhampur, Jammu, Doda and Kishtwar.
The weather is expected to include short but intense showers, thunderstorms, lightning and impact winds. According to IMD, the Qazigund – Ramban motorway section is also likely to see short magic of intense rain.
