The Indian Olympic Association formally approved the Indian offer to organize games by 2030 Commonwealth Games during its special General Meeting (SGM) in Nový Delhi on Wednesday. The proposal of the offer contains Ahmedabad as a host city, and India has already submitted an expression of interest and needed to submit the final proposals of offers by August 31.Indian chances to ensure Commonwealth games by 2030 have improved after the Canadian selection of the bid process.The Commonwealth Sport team, led by Darren Hall’s game director, recently looked at the places in Ahmedabad and met Gujarat government officials. Larger delegations are expected to visit at the end of this month.The host country will be decided during the last week of November in Glasgow in Glasgow. India had previously hosted the Commonwealth Games games in Delhi in 2010.“The approval was unanimously granted by the General House. Now we are going forward with our preparations,” said the common secretary Ioa Kalyan Chaubey after a short SGM.“The CWG 2030 will be full -fledged games. We will have all the sports in which we are good, and we will have a chance to win the maximum medal,” said the executive board member Rohit Rajpal, addressed a reduced sports list for Glasgow 2026.“There are three groups of sport. The first is the main sports of the Commonwealth games that are always there, then there are sports that the host nation can choose, and the third is other sports.“It is planned to have all our sports for gainful medals such as shooting, archery, wrestling, etc. Our traditional sports like Kabaddi and Kho should be there too,” Chaubey said.The announcement comes in response to the Glasgow Edition 2026 decision to exclude large sports such as hockey, badminton, wrestling and shooting due to costs.The special General Meeting was preceded by a meeting of the Executive Board in the morning.
