Pakistani chief of the army staff, General Asim Munir, is compared to social media after comparing India with the “shining Mercedes” and Pakistan with the “tipper” during the recent address in the United States.
According to Pakistani media reports, the Munir Gen spoke at a private dinner organized at Florida by entrepreneur Adnan Assad, his second visit to the US in two months, using an unusual analogy to describe these two neighbors.
“I will use a gross analogy to explain the situation … India is a shining Mercedes coming on the highway as a Ferrari, but we are a folder full of gravel. If the truck hits a car, who will be defeated?” Munir reportedly said.
The head of the army, considered the strongest figure of Pakistan, also spoke of the possibility of a “nuclear war” if his country faced an existential threat and claimed that such a scenario could “take half the world”. He also pointed to the unused energy and mineral reserves of Pakistan as a potential driver for economic recovery.
But it was a commentary “tipper” that caused a stir online. Many commentators claimed that analogy unintentionally strengthened the Indian image as superior power.
“The only truth in the Munir Statement is that India is Mercedes and his country is a folder. The rest is illuminated,” one of the X -user said: “Munir thinks he can endanger nuclear destruction from American land …
Social media platforms soon flooded the memes-one depicted Mercedes equipped with a missile marked with “India” along with subtitles to ridicule the military power of Pakistan.
For critics, the comment was on the self -harm of the failure. “He took the tipper and took him directly to his own reputation,” he read one post.
“I thought it was a joke when I first read it. But no, that’s real. Pakistan really deserves Asima Munir as his chief of the army,” he read another post.
