Pakistani dough Babar Azam is a difficult run with bat continued on Sunday, August 10 because it was released on three ball ducks in the second ODI against Western India at the Brian Lara stadium in Taroub in Trinidad.
Bara, who faced the wild bowling of Jayden Seales in ninth place, was defeated by a full van that turned late and hit the stump. Fans of West India released at the celebration, while Babar went back, headed down and visibly frustrated.
West Indies vs Pakistan, 2. Updates ODI
This release meant Babar’s first duck in 31 ODI – a rare low point in an otherwise impressive record. Yet the moment quickly became viral on social media when fans and critics released memes and jokes about his recent fighting.
“Babar Azam missed his century by 100 runs,” one fan wrote.
Another fan wrote: “Babar Azam is the most overrated Batsman in the history of Pakistan’s cricket.”
One fan even pointed out that despite the strong support he received, Babar was unable to earn on the opportunities he had come. “Mickey Arthur supported him. Sarfaraz Ahmed adjusted him. Imran Khan suggested him for the captain.
Babar Azam’s bad run of form
Babar’s slender patch is not new. Since its last century – blazing 151 out of 131 balls against Nepal in Asia Cup 2023 – lasted a lengthy section of 71 shifts without reaching three characters.
This prolonged drought caused debates on its current form and consistency. While Babar continues to ensure shifts and constantly accumulate running, the lack of large hundreds has become the main point of speaking between fans and cricket experts.
In the first ODI series, Babar played a stable shift of 47 64 balls, which helped Pakistan successfully chase the challenging goal. Yet his struggle to transform promising starts into a substantial score remains obvious. Although it is a vital pillar in Pakistani Pakistani ranking, the pressure is that Babar will soon produce the match of the winning century.
As the series develops, all attention will be focused on Babar Azama. Can he rise above the criticism and finally break his century drought? Only time will say it.
