The Chhattisgarh government will soon start a new cattle protection system, Gaudham Yojana, with a “special focus on restricting illegal trading and ensuring the safety of vicious cattle”. During the operation against smuggling, confiscated cows seized by the police, the government statement said.
“The separation of livestock has proposed this system with regard to cattle safety seized during illegal transport or smuggling, as well as stray cattle. The state is already banning illegal trading and animal transport.
In the past year, Chhattisgarh High Court, on more than one occasion, expressed concern about a stray cattle on roads and highways, noticing the risks presented for both animals and people.
The new scheme includes a fixed monthly fee of 10,916 GBP for pasteuries and 13,126 GBP for cattle operators. In addition, a fixed daily allowance for feed will be provided. Excellent Gaudhams will receive daily payments for animal-10 GBP in the first year, 20 GBP in the second, 30 GBP in the third and 35 GBP in the fourth year.
The main minister Vishnu deo Sai said that Gaudham Yojana will ensure the safety of livestock and at the same time provide a regular source of income to pasta and cattle.
This regime effectively replaces the now extinct Gauthan Yojana, which was opened three years ago by the previous government of Congress led by Bhupesh Baghel, according to which the local committees operating the Gauthany decided on the royalties.
The government official said that Gauthan Yojana had no reserved budget, with funds from other systems such as the District Mineral Fund and MGNGA. After the BJP government came to power, no budget provisions were made due to the absence of a detailed plan.
The new system has canceled certain provisions of Gauthan Yojana, such as the provision of cow manure for organic fertilizer. “There will be no fertilization in Gaudhams. Cowherds will use HN itself
Gaudham Yojana will also use the existing infrastructure created under Gauthan Yojana. “The Gaudhas will only be set up on government soil with safe fencing, cattle shelter, sufficient water supply and electricity. In Gauthan, where infrastructure already exists, it will be assigned to grow green feed.
This mode will be introduced on the basis of proposals from district administrations and will be different from registered Cowsheds. “In the first phase, Gaudhams will be set up in rural areas that are located along the main national highways in Chhattisgarh. The district committee will study all the applications relatively and passes the name of the selected organization to Chhattisgarh State Cow Service Commission.
