On Friday (August 8, 2025), the Supreme Court admitted an appeal lodged with the alphabet, the parent company of the online search machine, against the judgment on the Court of Appeal for the National Law (NCLAT), which partially confirmed the Commission for Competition in India (CCI), which found that technology abused its dominant position in Anti-Compette systems.

In 2020, Google was investigated for unfair billing procedures in Play Shop services and for promoting your own payment app, Google Pay.
In 2022 CCI concluded that Google had ordered the use of Google Play Billing (GPBS) for purchases and liberated its own applications like YouTube. The regulator imposed a fine of 936.44 GBP.
At the same time, the Court of Appeal, and at the same time observe several CCI findings, reduced the fine to the CRORE 216.69 GBP in the judgment, which was made in March this year.
In May, the Tribunal re -introduced two CCI instructions and required Google to be transparent on its billing data principles and forbid companies to use such data to get a competitive advantage.
