The Indian Election Commission (ECI) said on Friday (August 8, 2025) that the epic card that was the false leader Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Tejashwi Yadav, which was shown during the press conference on August 2.
The election registration officer (ERO) of the Digha election district sent a letter to Mr. Yadav after the deadline set the ERO, which ended on Friday, in which he asked him to hand over an epic card for a thorough investigation.
The day after the design of election roles was issued on August, Mr. Yadav claimed that his name was missing. However, the EC stated that the opposition leader claims “unfounded” claims and provided an extract from the proposal of the role where his name was present. He also issued his epic card with the RAB2916120 number.
The ECI list shows the epic number as RAB0456228, as shown in the role proposal. The EC also shared Mr. Yadava’s affidavit, in which Epic No. RAB0456228 was used to submit nomination documents in surveys for the assembly of 2020. It was also given with this epic number in the 2015 election role.
“In the context of the subject, you have to say that you have organized a press conference on August 2 and reported the media that your epic number is RAB2916120 and not found in the electoral commission’s official website with the epic number.
After Mr. Yadav’s accusation, the office of Ero 3 and 6. In the last letter ERO asked the epic card to be submitted on Friday afternoon.
The letter also stated: “During the investigation it was found that your name was stated with the Number RAB0456228 Election Station 204, the Library Building number 416 Bihar Animal University was not found even after agreement with the voters’ database in the last few years.”
On August 7, Mr. Yadav said he had not received any announcement from ECI and accused the body of the vote of accusing him of his own mistakes by issuing two epic card numbers.
Ero added: “The facts seem that the RAB2916120 epic card number, which shows at a press conference, is false. The creation and use of false government documents is a legal offense. Again, it will ask you to submit your seemingly false epic card in the office of election registration by 17:00 August 2025.”
Mr. Yadav is a Digha Assembly selector and presents the Raghopur seat seat.
A spokesman for the state state of RJD, Chittaranjan Gagan, said that ECI should explain how two epic numbers should be issued in the name Tejashwi Yadava, because epic figures are issued by the Election Commission.
“This is not a single incident; there are many such examples where two epic figures are issued on one name. Will the Election Commission claim the affidavit that Tejashwi is the only example in the entire Bihar voters’ list where no names have two epic numbers?” Mr. Gagan said.
He also claimed: “In fact, ECI imprisoned on his own website. His plot, which was helped by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) exposed – to distract attention and degrade the image of Tejashwi Yadava by writing the letters again and again.”
