The Mahalakshmi Temples across the Vizianagararam and Sricakula districts wore a solemn appearance when the devotees gathered to offer special prayers to the Presidents on the occasion of Varalakshm Vratam celebrated on the third Friday of the favorable month of Sravanam.
On the temple of Ayyannapet Iswharya Vekateswara veleth Astalakshmi in the priests of Vizianagararam performed Abhisekham and Kumkum Puja. The Sri Kanyakaparamesware temple witnessed a difficult rush to devote. Temple administrator Narayanam Srinivas supervised the arrangement of special prayers.
In the temple Lord Jagannath Swamy was decorated with flowers. A member of Jagannath Seva Samithi Kapuganti Prakash said that the shrine of the goddess Mahalakshmi in the temple premises is considered to be built 800 years ago, making it the oldest temple in the region.
Vinayaka Panchayatan Alayam Temple Trustee P. Jaganmohan Rao agreed for Kumkum Puja in the temple Astalakshmi, located in PN Colony, Srikakulam district. The devotees in the first hours defended the temple to pray. It is the first temple of Astalakshmi ten years ago.
