AHER and TJU collaboration has fostered world-class research, says American scientist
The long-standing strategic collaboration between the KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER) and Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) has fostered world-class research across multiple disciplines, Leonard G. Gomella, professor and chairman emeritus of urology, Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, TJU, said Friday (June 5).
He was reacting to being awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) (Honoris Causa) by KAHER during the 16th convocation.
He noted that the partnership has expanded significantly over the years, with several joint research projects underway in urology, neurology, radiology, psychiatry, public health, physiotherapy, nursing and integrative health.
Dr. Gomella reported that the collaboration resulted in more than 155 joint publications and more than 1,000 funded research initiatives. He further noted that the partnership has enhanced educational opportunities, faculty exchange programs and community-oriented activities involving faculty members, academics and students from both institutions. He expressed confidence in the future of this collaboration and said that the partnership will continue to grow stronger and reach greater heights in the coming years.
