The man of the Bhavgar district of Gujarat was arrested and sent to prison for alleged harassment of the Lion by approaching him while feeding on the carcass, the forest department said on Thursday (August 7, 2025).
The incident came out after the video spread on the social media at the beginning of this week, and it turned out that the man was dangerously moving close to the wild animal while recording it on his mobile phone. In the video, the lion, he saw feasting on his prey, blaming the man when he attacks his space. Despite the threat, the man continues to shoot and only retreats after the lion briefly throws at him. Viewers can be heard screaming in the background, trying to distract the animal.
After the video circulation, the Sheterunji Wildlife division opened an insecure. Officials identified a place as near the village of Talli in a series of Talaja and watched the individuals seen in the shots. He was identified as a Gautam Shiyal, the inhabitants of the area.
According to the forest department, Shiyal was arrested on Wednesday (August 6, 2025) on the basis of the provisions of the Act on the Protection of Wild Animals for disturbing and threatening the protected species. He was made before the local court in Talaja, where his request for bail was rejected and was transferred to his judicial custody.
