MEP for Mysur Yadveer Krishhnadatt Chamaraja Wadiyar on Thursday met with the Minister of Railway Ashwini Vaishnaw and urged him to provide Tirupati other train services when he regularly travels there from Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts.
In a press release after his meeting with the Minister in Delhi, the deputy urged Tirupati – Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express expanded to Mysur.
“Tirupati is a renowned religious and cultural center in Andhra Pradesh. People from Mysur and the surrounding regions regularly visit the temple. Therefore, due to the long -term demand of devotees, he should be broadcast to Mysur,” MP said.
He said that the current train services to Tirupati from Mysur are limited and some last for a long time, causing inconvenience for seniors, pilgrims and tourists. “The minister was familiar with this situation,” the deputy said.
It is possible to run Mysuru – Renigunta/Tirupati – Massur Vande Bharat Express, with regard to the availability of platforms and maintenance equipment at Mysuru, noted.
“The high -speed modern train service will offer thousands of passengers safe, comfortable and efficient travel. For the most part, it will benefit from the populations of Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Kodag,” the deputy leaned and urged the minister to take steps in this direction.
The deputy stated that the Minister of Railway, after receiving the memorandum, assured that a suitable decision would be taken at the earliest.
Train to Rameswaam
Mr. Yadveer said there was no direct connectivity of the train from Mysurus to Rameswaam, the main pilgrimage center in Tamil Nadu. “The lack of connectivity causes devoted discomfort from the Mysurus area. Therefore, a request to start a direct train between Mysura and Rameswaram has also been submitted,” the deputy said.
On this occasion, Mr. Yadveer expressed gratitude to the Minister of Railways for support for the acceleration of the electrification of the Mysuru – Chamarajanagar railway. “This is a decisive step that prepares a journey to expand Mysoru airport. The Minister’s intervention helped solve a long -standing problem,” the deputy said in the report.
