
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has allowed President JP to the prime minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata (BJP) to choose the Vice President of the Alliance.
The decision was taken during the meeting of the leaders of the NDA, which took place in the state capital on Thursday, reported news agencies.
When are the vice -presidential elections?

Pursuant to Articles 63 to 71 of the Constitution and the rules of the Vice President (elections) of 1974, the Election Commission had to organize formal elections within 60 days of resignation of Dhankha and before 19 September 2025.
Voters or election universities include all members of both parliament – chosen and nominated – using a system of proportional representation through a single portable vote. MEPs will submit a single transferable vote with a secret vote.

The election university currently has 788 deputies, 588 in Lok Sabha and 245 in Rajya Sabha.
