The State Election Commission extended the deadline for submitting applications for registration of names and objections related to election roles for local elections of the local body in Kerala by five days until 12 August.
The deadline was supposed to end on Thursday (August 7, 2025). The Commission, headed by A. Shajahan, issued a proposal for election roles on July 23rd.
More than 19 applications for registration of names have been submitted so far.
Uncommonly
Political parties, including the United Congress Opposition, demanded that the term should be extended by the next month and accused shortcomings in roles.
The Commission is entrusted with the preparation of election roles and the management of the elections to the local authorities in Kerala.
