On August 4, the British court condemned two teenagers, a boy and a girl, for one year and nine months in custody of youth. According to AFP, they tortured and killed two kittens sadistically.
The crime occurred in the park in Northwest London in May. Kittens were found with ropes, their bodies open, with burnt skin and fur. Knives, blowings and scissors were also found in the surroundings.
Teenagers, both 17, admitted that they hurt animals and carried a knife. District judge Hina Rai called this one of the worst cases of animal abuse that was seen in court.
The boy planned violence for a moment. He even searched online to get away with the murder.
“I really wanted to murder someone. Every day I examined how to get away with the murder. I killed cats to reduce my urge,” they say notes suddenly on the boy’s phone.
The prosecutor said his actions were planned and brutal. The boy told the police that he had feelings “depression, anxiety, hallucination and self -harm,” AFP added.
The girl withdrew the violent pictures of the kitten before committing the crime. According to the judge, both were equally responsible.
Judge Rai said the boys, “In your (police) conversation you are sorry, but the news also shows that you are trying to show empathy and realize that kittens will suffer.”
“You seem to have chosen kittens because they have emotions and you would have too much over them,” the BBC quoted.
The British police are now checking whether adolescents have been part of a global online group that shares cat videos that are injured or killed.
