Due to the high chance of heavy rain in Nilgiris, the district administration announced the holiday for all schools in the district on Tuesday.
In a press release, the district administration said that the Indian meteorological department predicted heavy rains in Nilgirics, which could potentially lead to landslides, Friday trees and other potential dangerous situations for the public.
The District Administration also said that in addition to schools, all tourist places would remain closed on Tuesday to ensure the safety of tourists.
